Congratulations to the staff from Mothercare Ireland who recently presented a cheque for €42,000 to Temple Street Children’s University Hospital that will fund vital, lifesaving equipment used to treat their littlest patients.
Staff from Mothercare’s 22 stores nationwide and head office undertook an extensive fundraising campaign to raise much needed funds for Temple Street including the ‘Drive to Save Lives’ car safety campaign, running the Women’s Mini Marathon, ‘Trick of Treat for Temple Street’ and many more bake sales and coffee mornings.
The funds will be used to purchase eight Infusion Pumps for St Michael’s B ward. This essential equipment is used to treat Temple Street’s youngest neonatal patients to infuse drugs, IV fluids and total parent nutrition.
“Working with Temple Street Children’s University Hospital has been a real eye-opener,” comments Laura Ward, Mothercare Marketing Director.
“We work with parents from the early stage of pregnancy; offering advice and sharing in their excitement but unfortunately many families end up in need of the amazing services offered by the talented and caring doctors and nurses in Temple Street. They kept us motivated every little step of the way and we’re thrilled to hand over this cheque for €42,000 today and we’re especially proud of the fantastic team from our Blanchardstown store who worked tirelessly to raise €5,420.”
Anne Cooney, Corporate Partnerships Manager said “We are very proud and honoured to have the support of Mothercare, their employees and their customers. The money raised will fund the purchase of vital, lifesaving equipment to improve the lives of our little patients
“Temple Street cares for over 145,000 children every year, and the hospital is committed to ensuring children and babies from all over Ireland get world-class medical care. Mothercare employees and customers are now part of our lifesaving team”.
